I went today for my first time and me and my friend ordered a small coffee a cappuccino and a look like an almond croissant, total cost $ 14 and change, just the croissant was over $6 and it was awful, no trace of any almond flavour, on top it was baked wrong since i could still taste flour, so the person who baked not a baker at all, the cappuccino was made with either 1 or 2 % milk , unfortunately real italians use homo milk or nut juice ( milk come from animals, veg is not milk but nothing else than 5 nuts and 1 lt of filtered water) so in the end i would not recommend this place unless you are a peasant italian who is willing to pay for less!If you charge me high prices, well your Quality must be excellent and not this crap!!! As authentic Roman, 3rd gen who live in Canada since 1999 ,knows about food( im a food blogger and also an italian chef/baker/pastry maker) i want only the best for my money! Unfortunately in Canada 99.99% of food IS NOT ITALIAN AT ALL, and i am very disappointed by people who abuse it, specially restaurants and pizzerias owned from not Romans!!
Everything about the café itself was really nice. It seems like they have a lot of regulars, which is great, but as a first-time visitor, I did notice that some customers were a bit territorial about the space. For example, when I tried to get by to use the restroom (which is downstairs near a few tables), people didn’t really move and just stood and blocked the way, even when I politely said “excuse me.” Other than that, I have no complaints — the café itself was lovely.
Great place to grab a quick bite in Yorkville area without the hustle and bustle. Consistently making good coffee and pastries are always fresh. Sandwiches are prepared in house and done generously and are worth the price to fill you up. Very comfortable cozy feeling upstairs and downstairs with a fireplace and plenty of outlets to charge your phone or pro on your laptop. When the weather is tolerable the outdoor patio has tables and chairs with outdoor cushions and Muskoka chairs to unwind in. If you’re visiting Toronto or live in Toronto great place to stop by and unwind. Free wi fi for those require it also.
The coolest morning cafe I've visited. Its charming in its unique way, there's dedicated spots to bring a laptop or a newspaper and grab a coffee. A Lil breakfast great I enjoyed was there steaming boiled egg. Highly recommend checking it out on a walk.
Expresso Coffee was fine. Atmosphere inside and outside was great. No idea about service because my friend ordered for me. Pictures are deceiving - what use is a ramp on the outside door for one small step when the service counter is up a large staircase inside? This location, although very nice, is totally inaccessible for everyone with mobility issues.
