A Kensington spot that balances a great coffee program with baked goods worth coming back for. The croissants are the right level of flaky.

So happy to have found this adorable little coffee shop so close to work! I’m not sure how long it’s been around, but I absolutely love the concept of coffee shops tucked into these charming little houses downtown. The yellow and blue exterior fits the name perfectly—so cute and inviting. It was also easy to find, which is always a plus. It was quite busy around 10:30 a.m., with a steady mix of dine-in and takeout customers. I noticed they also have a patio that would be especially lovely during warmer weather. The menu feels Asian-fusion inspired, with a wide variety of unique drinks and plenty of snack options (as you can see from the photo I posted). I ordered the matcha mochi, which was perfect—not overly sweet with a wonderfully soft, chewy texture. I also tried the Iced Cookie Butter Latte, a winter special. It was good, though not quite amazing. The coffee itself could be stronger and the cookie butter flavor could also be more evident. I did appreciate the touch of cinnamon, which added a nice warmth. That said, the drink prices can add up quickly. The latte was $7, and there were additional charges to have it iced and served in a takeout cup. And so, I'd expect better flavor, given the price point. Service was friendly, though not particularly memorable. Overall, it’s a charming spot with a fun menu and a cozy atmosphere—definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area.
This place is so cute, beautifully and uniquely curated. The photography, paintings, and handcrafted items really add to its charm. There’s also seating in the basement, if it's too busy on the main floor. I went with a friend, and we were able to catch up and get some work done. I ordered a flat white, and it was delicious. The espresso is strong and exactly what I needed to give me a second boost for the day. I haven’t tried the pastries/food yet, but it look so unique and tempting. I can imagine that in the summer, their outdoor space is absolutely gorgeous. I’ll definitely be coming back. Highly recommend!
One of my go to study/work cafes in the city! Butter and Blhe is definetly a hidden gem. With aesthetic and cozy seating either in their outdoor patio, inside or basement, Butter and Blue has a place for everyone! The drinks are also incredible I have always been a big fan of their various Matchas and especially their desserts. I would highly reccomend checking this place out!
Finally got around to trying this spot. There is seating inside and outside. Inside, you have seats in the main floor but also downstairs next to the restrooms. The strawberry matcha latte was decent, and the egg and hashbrown bread was interesting. Friendly staff. It's a good neighborhood spot.
Overall, a below-average coffee shop experience—feels a bit “budget” and DIY. The matcha mochi cake was bland (more sweet rice flour than matcha), the Hong Kong milk tea lacked robustness, and the iced americano was just standard. Also worth noting: the air vents appeared to have mold coming out of them, which was off-putting.
