Great little coffee shop tucked away in the old town neighbourhood :) (follow the sign and you’ll find Carlton and his coffee shop in the middle of the building lobby) We got the iced latte and almond croissant - both were great! The owner is also very kind and inviting Will definitely be back for an iced matcha :)
Coffee is top notch. I had a flat white with oat milk. Flavor of the espresso shot came through nicely and the milk was silky smooth without any froth - perfect! The chocolate croissant was also delicious - European style - light and flakey, and fresh. Shosie also deserves a shoutout as the barista with a perfect pour! Carlton’s is torontos best kept secret for now… not sure it will stay that way…

Don’t let Google fool you, the entrance is on Adelaide street. Went there twice mornings of our short time in Toronto after my husband saw me looking at options for coffee on Google map. “The machine is a Slayer! Only super passionate people have this machine and the coffee is sure to be great”. The coffee was indeed amazing and so was the barista. Super friendly, made me want to talk with him (which is not something I tend to do, especially in english!). One of our top “foodie” experiences in toronto!
Best coffee in the downtown core. Carlton is a wonderful owner; caring, consistent and with an eye for quality. If you’re looking for a regular spot for your downtown caffeine fix, give Carlton’s a look.
