Set inside a beautiful historic building downtown, Dineen is one of Toronto's most atmospheric cafes. The space is gorgeous, the coffee earns its place.

Is this the best Dineen location? I’m not sure, but it is for me. Is this the best Bay st. Adjacent spot to close the deal over a Cortado after lunch at Sud Forno? I’m not sure, but it is for me. In this one of the most aesthetic delight per-square-foot cafes on Yonge with Carrot Cake? I’m not sure, but it is for me.
great building and coffee. free wifi, good spots for working, outlets, and standard two hour time limit. Iced americano was nice and strong. the other drinks and pastries also look really good so i’ll try them next time. staff is polite and quick. the best part is the atmosphere and interior design for sure.
Housed in a gorgeous historical building, this café’s design has stood the test of time and still feels as inviting as ever. It’s the perfect setting for coffee meetings - whether for business or pleasure. The outdoor patio, framed by a beautiful wrought iron fence, adds to its charm and makes it an ideal spot to linger. The coffee is consistently excellent - never burnt, never sour. I haven’t tried their pastries yet, but they always look tempting in the display case.
This is my daily go-to. Very friendly staff, great coffee and yummy baked goods! Also has a cozy vibe and great seasonal drinks! They also have a workspace at the back! Definitely a space I could squat for a while
Great coffee option for socializing, meetings or reading/getting work done. I like that the banquette tables are designated no laptop/tablet zones, so that one person with a laptop doesn't occupy a prime table for 2 for hours on end. Rather there are single seats in other areas that are designated for people doing work. There is free WiFi with a 2 hour maximum which seems fair. Coffee drinks are consistently good. Is it the best coffee in the city? No. But it is pretty good. They have croissants, yogurt and 3 kinds of breakfast sandwiches (the Italian sausage/cheese/egg one is pretty tasty!). In the summer, there is a cute patio facing temperance street. Definitely better than any of the big chains. Nice, bright decor and pretty floors. This is a good option if you are in the Financial district. If it's full, you can also get coffee across the street at Sud Forno.
