One of Toronto's best bakeries, with a coffee program that holds its own against the pastries. Forno Cultura on King West is worth the inevitable wait.

Being a big fan of Almond croissants for as long as I remember, I finally found something even better and can never go back now! Forno Cultura’s Cornetto Mandolra is packed with roasted Almond and the pastry is so flakey and most importantly, just enough sweetness that doesn’t leave you feeling guilty and heavy. It is definitely superior and I’ll ditch almond croissants for this anytime! Please please please keep this recipe and keep making them fresh! Such a gem! The bakery has a hip style seating and really appreciate the goods more when you can see the hardworking bakers put all their hearts and souls into their creations.
I got a recommendation to try this place in Toronto and I have to say that the culinary experience was somewhat underwhelming. Thing is - we went in with high expectations given the buzz, and I was a bit disappointed with the food. Not that it’s not good - on the contrary, if you like bread and pastries, this place does it well - but when it comes to breakfast sandwiches, I felt they were bland. Their coffee s good though - and they have this open kitchen concept which I thought was cool. Overall, it’s still is a place to try given the quality of the ingredients used - but if you like flavors - you might wanna stay away from the egg sandwiches. It’s also on the pricey side - we paid 43$ for 2 sandwiches and 2 flat whites + 1 baba au rhum.
Everything I've tried has been delicious, from the cookies (my absolute favourite is amaretti di pistacchio) to the pizza slices which usually have seasonal toppings. You can tell the coffee is great quality. The staff is really lovely as well.
I feel like for a bakery, it was disappointing for the worst part of the sandwiches to be the bread. Very hard and dry, I fear they gave us bread from days before. The much drool sandwich was really good in its fillings but the rest I just couldn’t finish. I’m not sure if I’d go back.
Love this place! They have some of the best grab-and-go breakfast options in the city, and the cookies are a must — you really can’t go wrong with any of them. They’re a bit pricey for how small they are, but absolutely worth it for the quality and flavor. Not much outdoor seating, but there’s some available inside for when you want to enjoy your treats on the spot.
