Le Gourmand

A downtown spot with a European sensibility and a menu that goes well beyond coffee. Le Gourmand is worth a visit for the pastries alone.

i can definitely see the appeal behind le gourmand’s chocolate chip cookie — it’s simple but it’s done sO well, and it pairs really nicely with a warm, steamed cup of milk. the outside is baked nice and crisp but the cookie itself was SOOO soft and chewy, and the inside was gooey with rich, sweet, melted chocolate that made it taste super decadent and indulgent. i warmed it up a bit and it felt like it was fresh out of the oven! the bread pudding was a little bit too mushy for me honestly, i would’ve liked it to have a firmer, denser feeling and maybe a bit of a baked crisp on top. it tasted super tart-tasting and fruity from the banana and raisins(?), and i also liked how there was a bit of melted chocolate in it too.

You know that cookie good. The cookies here always get hyped up and they are worth the hype I would say. They are soft and buttery on the inside but still have a crispy outer rim. I got the iced matcha and this was nothing to call home about but I don’t think matcha is their speciality by any means.

Had to come here for their famous chocolate chip cookies. When I travel I like to try the areas best chocolate cookies. This place did not disappoint. Chocolate chip cookie was crispy and the outside and soft and chewy in the middle. Perfect thickness and not too sweet. Of course had to enjoy it with a glass of milk. Lots of seating in the cafe. Tables were kind of close together and was hard to navigate. Will come back to try the other goodies they have.

Stopped by Le Gourmand for coffee and dessert, and it hit the mark completely. The iced Americano was strong but smooth — exactly what you want on a slow afternoon — and the Basque cheesecake was rich, creamy, and perfectly balanced. Great vibe overall: relaxed but busy enough to feel alive, with friendly staff who actually seem to care. It’s the kind of café that makes you linger a little longer than planned.

"My 5th time here!" Still just as good as the first time. The pancakes are legendary and the quality is always 10/10. Highly recommend! 🥞🍓
