A serene Kensington cafe inspired by the Taoist concept of effortless action. The coffee is deliberate, the atmosphere is genuinely calm.

Service? 10000/10 Matcha? 100000/10! I highly recommend because the vibes were unmatched and the matcha was lowkey life changing. The apple pie one made me want to do a backflip. I love strong flavors and the strong flavors in each of my drinks (white chocolate matcha, apple pie matcha, and hojicha cheesecake) were THERE! 🔥🔥🔥🔥 I will be back damn near every day of my trip!
I stopped by Wu Wei in Kensington Market and tried their blueberry matcha, and honestly, it was so good! The flavour was really unique — you still get that earthy matcha taste, but the blueberry adds this light sweetness and fruity twist that works perfectly together. It wasn’t too sweet either, which I really appreciated. The place itself is small and tucked away underground, so it feels like a little hidden gem. The vibe matches the artsy energy of Kensington — cozy, chill, and very aesthetic. The staff were super nice too and took their time making the drink, which showed in the quality. It’s definitely more of a grab-and-go spot (not much seating), but it’s worth the stop if you’re exploring the area. I’ll definitely be back to try their other flavours — this one totally won me over.
We heard the matcha here is superb 👀 tried the matcha coconut latte and black sesame latte. The coconut latte cream foam was absolutely phenomenal and had so much coconut flavour. Same with the black sesame foam; I don't like black sesame but I gave it a taste and it was really good and not too heavy. The drinks were good but I'm not a matcha snob so I didn't think their matcha was any more exceptional than other places. It was still really good, and I'd definitely come back to try their other drinks, even the non-matcha ones (which were sold out today 😔), but I can't say whether this is the best in the city haha.
wu wei coffee is a cozy spot tucked away in kensington market. i got a hojicha cheesecake latte, and while I find the hojicha was strong, it wasn't anything special. the cheesecake portion was a bit too salty. my friends got matcha and also said their drinks weren't anything impressive, but still good. the service was quick and efficient, and the staff were kind and welcoming. the atmosphere is clean and modern, but isnt the best place to sit down and chat with friends as the seating was uncomfortable as well as sparse. a nice spot to grab and go :)
The matcha is amazing here!! They use a very good quality matcha and use a matcha bowl and whisk to prepare it, giving it a pleasant creamy and foamy texture. It is a bit on the pricey side, but that is expected in Kensington Market. The actual cafe itself is quite small, however that is also to be expected. Overall, I would definitely recommend!
